Injury Assessment and Treatment
What is injury assessment and treatment?
From back pain at work to neck pain after an accident, knee pain from running or shoulder pain from lifting a bag, we are here to help. Injury Assessment and Treatment involves our highly qualified practitioners doing a full in depth clinical assessment. During your initial consultation our practitioners will take a thorough medical history along with details of the issue you have come in to have resolved. A detailed set of observations and clinical tests will then be completed to allow them to accurately assess the issue. Once this is completed you will be given a full report of the findings and the details of the treatment plan the clinician feels would help you the most. This allows you to make an informed decision as to whether you would like to continue with treatment.

What to expect
What do I need to bring?
Your practitioner will need to have access to the area that you are struggling with. Due to this we advise that you bring loose fitting shorts if you have an issue with any part of your pelvis, hip, thigh, knee, calf or ankle. If it is the neck, back or shoulder then the practitioner may ask you to take off your top. Due to this for female patients we advise wearing a bra you are comfortable to go down to.
What can I expect from my first appointment?
Your practitioner will spend time taking a detailed history of your present complaint along with a full medical history. This information is essential for the practitioner to form an initial impression of what the issue and cause could be. They will then ask you to do specific movements and carry out specific clinical tests to confirm their diagnosis.
Once your practitioner has decided on their initial diagnosis you will receive a full report of findings. This will involve an in-depth explanation of your issue along with the causes and then the advised treatment plan based on up to date research. It is important that during this report of findings you ask any questions that you have.
If you confirm you are happy and agree to the treatment plan outlined, the practitioner will deliver some treatment if appropriate.
What Techniques will be used?
Our practitioners are handpicked for their experience in private practice and working in multi-disciplinary teams. Due to this they will use techniques common in Physiotherapy, Chiropractic, Osteopathy and Sports Rehabilitation. This includes but is not restricted to; joint manipulation, joint mobilisation, myofascial dry needling, trigger point release, soft tissue massage and exercise prescription.
What if the practitioner can’t help?
There are some rare instances where the practitioner will not be able to treat the issue. If this is the case we have strong relationships with surrounding practices who may have individuals more suited to treat you. If this is the case we will refer you over to have you back on track in no time.
