Guy Oldring
Clinic Owner, Sports Injury Clinical Lead
Guy is a highly experienced Sports Injury and Rehabilitation Specialist with over 20 years of experience working in both private practice and professional sport. As Founder of The Thornbury Clinic, Guy has built a reputation for combining high level clinical expertise with a genuinely patient centred approach, helping individuals recover from pain, improve performance and return confidently to the activities they enjoy.
Guy has extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of both acute sporting injuries and long standing musculoskeletal conditions, including low back pain, neck pain and persistent movement related injuries. He works with a wide range of patients, from elite athletes and dancers through to office workers, gym goers and individuals simply looking to move and feel better in everyday life.
He has a particular interest in the management and prevention of injuries in high level dancers and gymnasts, and during 2025 delivered multiple educational talks and workshops at leading dance institutions including Italia Conti. His work in this area focuses on injury prevention, load management and helping performers optimise physical resilience while maintaining performance demands.
Before founding The Thornbury Clinic, Guy gained extensive clinical and pitch side experience working with some of the UK’s leading sporting organisations, including Bristol Bears, Manchester United Soccer Schools and Tumbellina International, where he worked as Lead Therapist supporting elite performers and athletes.
Guy holds a First Class Honours degree in Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation and is also one of the few Titleist Performance Institute Medical Professionals in the UK. Through this role, he advises golfers of all levels on injury prevention, movement efficiency and improving swing mechanics while reducing physical strain and injury risk.
Alongside his undergraduate training, Guy has completed postgraduate qualifications in spinal and peripheral manipulation, myofascial dry needling and advanced rehabilitation techniques. He is also heavily involved in mentoring newly graduated Sports Therapists and rehabilitation professionals, supporting the next generation of clinicians entering private practice.
Having spent many years working within multidisciplinary teams alongside Physiotherapists, Osteopaths and Chiropractors, Guy takes an integrated approach to treatment, combining hands on therapy, rehabilitation and movement based strategies to ensure patients receive the most appropriate and effective care for their individual needs.
Please note that Guy does not work with private medical insurance companies. Patients wishing to use private medical insurance will need to book with one of the clinic’s HCPC registered Physiotherapists.
