Dr John Oldring
Senior Medical Advisor
Dr Oldring is the Senior Medical Advisor and sits on the Clinical Board at the Thornbury Clinic. With over 40 years experience as a GP both in Great Britain and with the air force abroad he brings a wealth of knowledge to the clinic.
He is a member of the Royal College of General Practice also holds a diploma of the royal college of obstetrics and gynaecology. Alongside his work as a GP Dr Oldring has also been unofficial medical adviser to the MPAGB -( Modern Pentathlon Association of Great Britain) and Senior Medical Officer Operation Drake 1YR -Operation Raleigh’s predecessor. He also worked as the Medical Officer for 10 years for Leicester Race course, and provided medical cover for numerous horse racing events
Dr Oldring has also worked as an East Midlands immediate care and BASICS doctor for several years and was Medical Officer for the Special Olympics Sailing Event 2009.
At The Thornbury Clinic Dr Oldring advises practitioners on the effects of patients medications in relation to musculoskeletal care, along with signposting practitioners to specialists if required. He also sits on the clinical board advising on patient treatment pathways to ensure the highest standards are met.
